Digital X-Ray Technology

We are proud to offer our patients the advantages of digital X-ray technology. This type of imaging digitizes information to create a very detailed X-ray on a computer screen. This allows us to zoom in or out, isolate specific areas for detail, and share images with board-certified veterinary specialists.

Benefits of Digital Technology

Modern digital X-rays produce images that are clearer, offer computer enhancement options, and reduce the amount of radiation exposure for your pet. This digital technology also provides the ability to share images with specialists outside of our hospital for consultation and second opinions. This advantage eliminates the need to transport your pet to many veterinary professionals at various locations, reducing stress and enhancing diagnostic accuracy.

Uses for Veterinary Radiology

Veterinary radiology allows us to evaluate the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. Correct diagnosis involves proper use of equipment and expert interpretation of diagnostic results.

We use many radiographic techniques to evaluate medical problems, such as barium series and contrast cystograms. Digital X-rays are excellent for identifying the extent of injuries or for tracking the healing progress in a broken bone. In addition, we use digital radiographs in our dental evaluations to obtain the detailed view necessary for identifying problems in the teeth or beneath the gum line.
