Many pet care cases that we see need around the clock monitoring and medicating in order to insure a timely recovery.   We provide continuous veterinary care with a highly trained nursing staff on the premises 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Advanced imaging is often required to diagnose difficult or unusual conditions.  MRI, myelography, contrast radiography and color flow and doppler ultrasonography are available.  We also have a board certified radiologist on staff to assist with interpretation with these modalities as needed.

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, the Barking Zone is your answer!  The Barking Zone is a great place for your dog to play in a fun and safe environment.  Our doggie daycare provides supervised care while your dog plays with friends.  Play activities include playing ball, cooling off in the pools, running, and extra attention from Barking Zone staff members.  The Barking Zone is available to dogs that are with us for Day Care or Boarding, and play time is available for ½ day or whole day sessions.  Participants should be spayed/neutered, up to date on all required vaccines, and dog/people friendly. 

Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. The Avian and Exotic Service of Carriage Hills Animal Hospital offers state-of-the-art routine preventative care as well as medical and surgical health care for exotic pets.  Dr. Scott Griffin enjoys treating our feathered friends.  Dr. Heather Stephens has a special interest in exotic mammals such as ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, as well as rabbits.   Both Dr. Griffin and Dr. Stephens look forward to helping your exotic pets live longer, happier lives.

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use a modern and safe ultrasonic cleaner to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Advanced dental care is available, including root canals, and minor endodontics.

High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination of your pet’s abdominal cavity without the need for a large surgical incision. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of various abdominal diseases and disorders.  Laparoscopy can be used for exploratory surgeries, biopsy sample collection, and routine surgeries such as spays and preventative gastropexy.  This less invasive form of surgical procedure allows for shorter post operative recovery times and less pain for our patients.

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.  We carry all premium diets from Hill's Science Diet and Eukanuba.  We also have the Diabetic Management diet from Purina CNM.

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.  The safety and comfort of your pet are of utmost importance to us.  We provide the latest advances in pain management including transdermal pain patches and nerve blocks for orthopedic cases.

We understand that physical therapy after injuries and surgery is just as important in canine patients as it is in humans.  One of the primary therapy methods that we utilize is hydrotherapy, or underwater treadmill training.  Hydrotherapy is a very effective method of rehabilitation in dogs to build up muscle strength and improve mobility without any additional stress on the joints.  The buoyancy of the water removes pressure from the painful limbs, while the viscosity of the water creates a resistance to the muscles.  This combination creates an ideal therapeutic workout.  These PT appointments are scheduled at our Carriage Hills location.

Radiographs– or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.  We use many radiographic techniques to further evaluate medical problems such as barium series and contrast cystograms.

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology possible. All patients are carefully screened prior to surgery for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pets needs.  Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient surgical procedures for your pet, heated surgery tables for greater comfort, advanced sterilization techniques, ECG and oxygen saturation monitors as well as constant monitoring by an experienced surgical nurse, intensive after surgery care and complete pre-anesthetic blood testing.  All surgical patients receive an IV catheter and fluids to maintain hydration and regulate blood pressure.  Pain management is vital to all surgical cases and safety and comfort are of utmost importance.
