Our Pet Health Care Program Includes Nutrition Counseling for Every Life Stage

Pet Nutrition

Pet nutrition planning and nutritional counseling are offered to all pet owners at Carriage Hills Animal Hospital. At every wellness visit, we discuss the dietary needs of your pet at their stage of development. We make recommendations, taking into account a variety of factors including age, activity level, health concerns, overall condition, and lifestyle.

Pet Health & Nutrition

Every animal needs a balanced diet for growth and development, strength and vigor, supple skin and coat, and a strong immune system. Without the appropriate elements in a pet’s diet, they become vulnerable to nutrition-related diseases. For example, a calorie-rich diet can cause obesity in your pet, leading to heart disease and diabetes.

In other cases, a pet has a condition or disease that requires a restricted diet. If a pet has cancer, he or she may require a high calorie diet with nutritional supplements. Kidney disease may require a diet that restricts salt and protein.

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy, and active. In addition, our pharmacy stocks many nutritional supplements and vitamins for your pet health needs.
