Carriage Hills Animal Hospital is pleased to offer a full in-house pharmacy for all of your veterinary prescription medicine, pet care products, and dietary needs. We work closely with veterinary manufacturers and distributors to offer pet owners the highest quality at the best prices possible.
For Montgomery AL convenience, our Vaughn Road Veterinary Clinic also offers a full-service pharmacy with prescription medications, pet care products, and dietary choices to meet your essential needs.
Online Rx Refills
To order your pet’s medication refills from our pharmacy, we provide this prescription order form to fill out and submit online:
Please allow 48 hours during pharmacy business days for any online orders. If there is a question about your refill, we will contact you; be certain to provide accurate contact information (such as home, work, and cell phone numbers) on the form.
We offer a limited home delivery service for those who cannot conveniently make it into the clinic. Please contact us for more information regarding this service or with your questions about pet medications.
Pet Meds & Dietary Products
Our pharmacy is fully stocked with the highest quality prescription medications for the safety and health of your pet. We carry Hill’s Pet nutrition products, including their Prescription Diets and Science Diet.
Pet safety is always our first priority and we only prescribe medications when necessary for the health and wellbeing of our patients. To write a prescription, our veterinarians must have a current relationship with you and your pet. In most cases, this means we have seen your pet in the last year for an examination.
Certain medical conditions require more frequent examinations, and some prescriptions involve the need for periodic lab work. If your pet is running low on prescription medications and you need a refill, be sure to contact us within 48 hours of the last dose to allow for required lab work or a possible visit to our office.
Never give your pet human medications unless explicitly directed to do so by your veterinarian. Many medications that people take on a routine basis can be harmful to pets.
Parasite Prevention & Treatment
Most pets require a monthly heartworm and intestinal parasite prevention program, as well as a flea and tick preventive. At every wellness visit, our veterinarians assess the changing needs of your pet and determine the appropriate parasite prevention products necessary at each stage of life.
Parasite control can be confusing and many pet owners wonder about buying these products in discount stores. Many over-the-counter flea and tick control products are ineffective and some can be toxic to your pet. Before buying any parasite control products, discuss your needs with us. We help you sort through the hype and identify the most effective and safe products for your pet’s needs.
The Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) offers articles, videos, parasite prevalence maps, and other expert information for pet owners.
